* for PCMCIA Ethernet Card ***********************************************Windows 2000 provides a complete "Plug and Play" System that will automatically recognize and configure most PC Cards.

Before inserting your PCMCIA Ethernet PC Card, please have the installation media for the Windows 2000 ready for any request for files.

Windows 2000 Setup

(1) With the system off, remove all PC Cards.

(2) Start up your computer. After Windows 2000 is up and running, put the driver disk of PCMCIA Ethernet into drive A:.

(3) Insert PCMCIA Ethernet Card into PC Card slot.

(4) When the Found New Hardware Wizard window appears, click on the "Next" button.

(5) Select "Floppy disk drive" item and click the "Next" button. Windows 2000 will check the disk that is in the floppy drive for the PCMCIA Ethernet Card network drivers.

(6) When the PC Card message appears on the "Driver File Search Results" screen, click the "Next" button. Windows 2000 will begin copying files.

(7) You may get a warning message said "Microsoft has not digitally signed the software you wanted to install. Do you want to continue the installation?". Click "Yes" to continue the installation.

(8) Click the "Finish" button.

(9) Restart the computer.

Follow the procedures below to install the PCMCIA Ethernet driver

1. Start up your computer. After Windows XP is up and running, put the driver disk of PCMCIA Ethernet into drive A:.

2. Insert PCMCIA Ethernet Card into PCMCIA slot.

3. When the Found New Hardware Wizard window appears, select "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" then click "Next" button.

4. In response to the message in Hardware Installation window "The software you are installing for this hardware:

...... has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify it compatibility with Windows XP......", click "Continue Anyway" to install the driver.

5. Click "Finish" to complete the driver installation.
